The Ultimate Glamping Experience: BASEGLAMP Montana

Wanting to explore the woods, and be immersed in nature, but still want all the luxuries of home: comfortable beds, heat and a shower? BaseGlamp Montana has your name written all over it.

Matt and I have always been big campers, since we started dating, it was a relatively inexpensive way for us to travel. We found that we loved the feeling of being out in the woods, ending our nights around the bonfire, and being remote where you can see a sky full of stars.

As we get older and travel with Adayla, the amount of equipment that we need to go camping has increased from bottles to the thicker sleep sack for all weather types, and while we’re living on the road not having a fridge can be a real pain when we’re traveling with milk.

This is why we loved staying at BaseGlamp. We were able to feel immersed in nature, and still get our bonfires, but we had a fridge to put Adayla’s milk in, a heater and a wood stove for the cool Montana nights, and a flushing toilet. It was the best of both worlds.

On the BaseGlamp property there are 12 domes, with six different designs: Single Queen, Premium Queen, ADA, Premium Single King, Mezzanine and Premium
Mezzanine. The premium domes come with the wood fired hot tub and we stayed in the Premium Mezzanine. If you want to learn more about the domes, amenities and sizes her can find more here.

When we stayed at BaseGlamp we stayed in cabin three, which had a king bed and a mezzanine (Premium Mezzanine), and plenty of space for the three of us, including Adayla’s crib. It was nice because in the dome there was a little extra space behind the bathroom where there’s a rack for clothes and shoes, but that’s where we tucked her crib, so she was away from our main living area, she couldn’t see us at all and it stayed dark in the back even while we had the lamp on upfront. If you’re traveling with a little one, I would highly recommend going with the bigger dome so you can have that space.

Our dome also had a Solo Stove fire pit, wood-fired hot tub, french press and coffee cups, bonfire wood was provided and a hammock outside which were such amazing amenities.

We stayed in the first weekend of October and it was beautiful. We were on day five of our two week trip and after a few days of big hiking and rain, we decided to spend Saturday at the domes. We got to sleep in, sip coffee in the hammock, Adayla got to play on the big beanbag chair in the barn, soak up the 75 degree day and do a little local exploring. I think it was my favorite day of the whole trip

The Barn

One thing to note, BaseGlamp is located just outside of Glacier National Park so you are in the heart of grizzly country. Because of this, there are a few things you need to know before you book. In the dome you are not allowed to have any food, you can keep beverages in the mini-fridge and make coffee, but the rest of your food needs to be stored in the barn.

Each dome gets its own numbered bin and room in the fridge to store your goods, and there is a full kitchen and living room in the barn too, to cook, eat, watch the game and meet new friends. There is a central grilling area for cooking, as well.

BaseGlamp Montana is a must-stay for those who want a camping experience, but with more amenities and a real comfy bed. From a friends getaway, to people traveling to Glacier, but not wanting to fly or bring all their camping gear, or those just looking for a unique experience for their vacation.

While we were there, we also had the opportunity to explore Glacier and Whitefish (Blog coming soon).  Overall, Glacier National Park needs to be on your bucket list, and when you visit- you have the perfect place to stay!
